Hi all

Well, it certainly has been a while since Ihave been here, I have missed it greatly.  I have missed reading the blogs of the sweet and supportive mommies and reading the comments they leave on my blog.  I am using my computer at work since we are still having issues with our home computer.  Should be fixed sometime today.  I am back to work for a few hours a week to do payroll and pay bills, check mail and messages, that sort of thing.

Marcius William was born at 8:32 on October 26th.  He was 9lbs. and 22 inches and very healthy.  He lost a pound at the hospital but has gained 2 since coming home.  Recovery has been hard this time.  With Tiger it was a cinch, but now after 3 weeks I am still hurting.  I am also borderline depressed, and my milk is drying up, and I have a constant headache.  Tiger is sleeping well and baby is up every 3 hours to feed.  I just can't seem to sleep.  My mind races, I think of all these awful thoughts, like horrible things happening to my babies and husband (not by my hand, mine you).  I am constantly checking on them, doting.....Tiger is going through terrible two's at 17 months....Good God please help me!!!  That girl can SCREAM!

I will email some pics to this computer so I can post them here, or maybe I can do it from home tonight if the computer is working.  I will be here next week for sure!!

I'm Baaack!

Hello there friends!  I am sorry for being away for so long.   There are so many factors why I don't even know where to start.  First and foremost, I am doing fine as well as my family.  We had a bit of a scare but all is well.  Marcius threatened to come early but hasn't, Marc was in the hospital for chest pains and we still are unsure what is causing it.  Lola has gone to a new home.
I hope all my blogger friends are doing great.  I will go to your sites and check in throughout the week.  I will have to do it from work since Lola chewed all the computer cords at home!
Lola was a very sweet little dog, but Tiger was not bonding at all with her.  Everytime I went to pet her or give her love she would bite me.  We realized when Tiger went to spend the night with her Auntie and Uncle that Lola was an angel.  We understood then that she was jealous and what would she do once the baby was born?  We didn't want to find out.  We gave her to a family that has a dairy farm and actually have a dog from the same breeders.  She will be missed but Tiger has yet to notice that she isn't there. I can check in on Lola anytime I want to and we can go visit her if we want to also.  I feel guilt about it but more for how Lola is feeling, I would hate for her to feel that we abandoned her, I found her the best home possible.
Marc started having chest pains a few weeks ago.  To the hospital we went.  He had a stress test 2 months ago that went fine.  They were going to keep him overnight to run some tests that take about 12 hours for results but a nurse gave him lunch and he apparently had to have an empty stomach so they sent him home.  He went this morning for a gall bladder ultrasound and tomorrow for a heart ct-scan. He keeps telling them that he believes it is stress related but no one wants to listen to him. We are still nervous but I am sure all will work out fine.
Marcius is a tank, therse are my Dr.s words.  My ultrasound showed that at the time I was 33 weeks and 3 days along but his size was saying that I was 35 weeks and 5 days along.  I was having contractions for a while but we got everything under control and Dr. G wants to leave my c-section date at the 26th.  Even though my due date was changed from Nov.1 to Oct.26!  So cross your fingers that I can wait that long.  He will probably be around 10 lbs if I go that long.
The house is coming along.  Marc is taking it a bit slower and that is fine.  We are ready fro Marcuis when he is ready for us.  Tigers room can wait if needed, and the only thing left to do outside is put up the siding.
I had my baby shower yesterday.  It went nicely, we got a lot of beautiful clothes, diapers, wipes and a wipe warmer, just what I asked for.  My best girlfriend ordered him a mobile that is a red sox mobile of little green monsters (red sox fans know what I mean!) We also go some nice hand made things.
Tiger now has 12 teeth, 4 came in all at once, poor baby and she is teething again!!! She is doing great, really coming out with great words and pointing and telling us what she is pointing at.  It is so great.
That is it in a nutshell.  I will be more regular here again, I hope.  My best to all of you!

Beautiful!

  Good Morning All!

I have been having trouble getting to spaces.  I have been getting a server too busy message, but not this morning.  As usual things are hectic for hubby and me.  Still trying to finish up Tigers room and the rest of the house.  The weather has not cooperated as well as he needs a break every so often.  He did get the back yard all fenced in and that little bugger of a dog can still escape!!  And of course football started Sunday, so we took a break for that too!!

Work yesterday was pure hell!  There was an executive board meeting here, the first real one in 4 months.  I had 10 men and 1 woman asking for 100 different things.  Things mind you that I have already done and given to them but they have misplaced or they want something written in a different font.....you get the picture?  I was so thankful wen yesterday ended that I didn't even mind the traffic filled ride home last night!

I did get another raise, 6%, the same as the membership got when they signed the new contract. 2 raises in 4 weeks is not so bad!!

Alicia, we have decided to mane our son Marcius William.  Hubby picked it out of a book of baby names under their astrological signs.  I like it.  I am sure he will be called Marc just like Daddy.

I have yet to post new pics but now that it is quieter here and I can log on to MSN I will get to it this week!

Have a great day all, I'll post more later today or tomorrow!
God Bless.

What a week!

Well, the weekend was so-so.  It rained Sunday and Monday.  Our plans to bring Tiger to the coast were quashed.  We did go to the WIndsor Fair on Sunday though and although she was not feeling all that well, she had a really good time.  Her favorite thing was the ducks and goats.  Will post pics later this week if I get a chance.

Tiger has 3 teeth that have popped through all at once, poor baby, teething has been brutal for her, and us.  I am not sure If I mentioned in my last blog that I am iron difficient.  I guess I am really low, my level is 29-30 and should be 35-37.  My Dr. is worried that I will need a transfusion after my c-section and my recovery will be slower.  This is why I am so exhausted lately.  So I am eating lots of spinach and steak and I just found out shellfish is really high in iron!!

Marc and I went to Maine General to pre-register for October 26th.  I had never been to the maternity ward there, it is apparently quite new but WOW it is like a spa!  The rooms are all private and HUGE.  We have a dining area, and pull out couch for Marc, a sleeper chair and a recliner/rocker.  We also get a candle light dinner of our choice the evening after my surgery!!  I have a huge private bathroom with sit down shower.  I am so impressed! And the best thing is that the baby is with us all the time not in a big room with all the other babies. Security is great too.  The nurses we met seemed really nice too, we even have a kitchen that they stock with munchies!  My surgery is set for 7:45am and I have to be there at 5:45!  By lunch time I will be resting in my room with my new baby boy!  7 weeks and counting all!

Tiger meets her new baby sitter tomorrow.  We will bring her over 5 or 6 times before we leave her there for 8 hours unless of course she loves it and I am comfortable leaving her sooner.  Erika is a great girl and mother, and the 2 new kittens she just got will help!

I feel so bad for the family of Steve Irwin.  My heart and prayers go out to them.  I cannot believe that there are people pushing to have the video of his death released.  This man has a mother and a wife.  The agony they feel will be so compounded to have this out there to see over and over.  As a mother I cannot imagine this.  Morbid curiosity is understable but this is too much!!

I hope all my blogland friends are doing great, I will get to your blogs and read up on your past days and hopefully leave comments for you all but until then have a blessed day and take care of yourselves!

Rainy days and Daycare

I sure am glad it is Friday.  Marc and I  have both have 3 days off together. We had plans to take TL to the fair on Sunday and to Boothbay Harbor on Monday but as it stands now it is going to rain both days.  I guess we'll have to find something inside to do.  Not sure what though.  Just spending time together as a family is going to be great.

I have found a sitter for Tigerlily, I am not sure if I mentioned that previously, I have been so freaking exhausted I don't know if I ate breakfast this morning!  Anyway, she is someone I have known for years and her mom ran a daycare for 25 years.  She is a very sweet girl but TL won't start going there for 2 weeks.  So she is at work with me on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays.  It is soooooo much work to keep her entertained as well as do my work.  Her pack and play is no longer here so I have no where to lay her down for a nap.  I have been taking her to my folks, they live a mile away and trying to get her to take a nap there amidst all the fun toys and cool dog they have!!  Near impossible.  She had no nap yesterday and was asleep by 6:30 last night.  I took a hot shower and when I got out she was cuddled up with Daddy on the couch sound asleep.  She had a good night too.  I just need to get more the 4 hours myself.

I have found out that I am very low on iron.  I am not sure why the Dr's office waited 2 weeks to tell me this.  I figured I was so dang tired because I am pregnant, have a 14 month old and a puppy and a house and hubby to take care of on top of working full time....hmmmm.   So we had a nice juicy steak and spinach for dinner last night.  I need to do some research to find out wat foods are high in iron ( NOT LIVER!!)  My Dr. wants me to bring my level back up with food rather than pills.  I guess it is absorbed better that way and if I can't bring it up it'll be a rough recovery and may need a transfusion.  So that is reason enough to eat when I am not hungry.  I have not been hungry in about 2 months so my diet has been poor.  I will do better, promise.

I think I may knock off early today, as long as no pressing issues pop up.  I am waiting for the renters of the banquet hall to pick the keys up and a members wife is on her way to pick up his check, other than that my day here is really done. Oh, Tiger has figured out how to get water out of the water cooler here, she gets it on her hands and rubs it all over her face, too flippin cute!!
I hope you all have a great and beautiful day!

Here I Am!

Hello All!  I am so sorry I have been absent, I have missed my blog!  It seems that the past week I have been a single mom.  Hubby is working so very hard in between raindrops to get the porch and breezeway finished.  Tigerlily's room is almost done too.  I have been extra busy at work also and there have many people here.  I am usually here all by myself so I can update my blog from here.  By the time TL gets to sleep I am too dang tired to do it from home!

There is really no news to speak of, the members here voted to ratify the contract that the company offered ( big mistake).  They were just so tired of not having one and really worried for their futures.  With that said, my Dad will be retiring Decmeber 21st.  after 36 years of loyal service without so much as a handshake.  It is sad when company's are taken over by huge conglomerates from other countries.  They even wanted to take the Christmas holiday away because they don't celebrate it in this part of S. Africa.

Marc has decided to take Saturday off to work on the house all day.  He said that he would also work on it Sunday until after lunch and then we could take Tigerlily to the Windsor Fair to see all the animals.  We both have Monday off and he told me that if the weather permitted we would take Tigerlily to Boothbay Harbor, a place we promised we would take her every year.  If you are not from Maine or have never been here, Google "Boothbay Harbor" it is the epitome of a coastal Maine town. It is quaint although busy, the houses are old but stately and gorgeous and the people are really cordial.  I highly recommend anyone spending some time there.  I PROMISE to have my camera and take lots of pics to post.  I have yet to get any of the the puppy and TL yet but I will for sure soon.

I still am having babysitting issues for TL.  I can't seem to find a "mom" type to come to the house 2-3 days a week and daycares won't take children unless they are potty trained and we are no where near that yet.  So my mom has her Tuesday and Wednesday and my sis in law has her Mondays.  I bring her here with me on Thursday and Friday along with Lola, "Calgon, take me away!"

Our property tax bill came, it went up 12% and our truck registration is due in September.  Our 2005 taxes still are NOT done (we are expecting at least $2500 coming back)  we unfortunatly have to have an accountant do them because of the business.  I am so glad that we have sold the business and I can do the takes next year, but this hold up has been ridiculous.  Our CPA is an airhead to say the least, but he is a relative and really does do a good job, when he finally gets around to it!!  We are having the oil tank filled this week whike prices have dropped.  Talk about an expensive month~  I have been working overtime and so has Marc just to put a little extra in savings.  We have just sold a few neons and tins from the tavern, that will pay for our weekend fun that we hope to have!  We have a shed full of breweriana that I guess is worth quite a bit.  We are going to go through it and decide what we want to keep and Ebay the rest of it.  That will bring in a tidy sum for the kids college funds!

I have been invited to a conference in Atlantic City for work.  It is of course too close to my due date for me to be able to go.  It is all expenses paid.  This happened 2 years ago too, I was pregnant with Tiger and was asked to go.  But next year I can go and it is in Vegas!!  And my hubby can go for a very cheap price.  It is only a couple of days and I am sure I will change my mind, I won't be able to leave my babies for 3 days LOL.  I have such a hard time leaving her when I go to work!

Ok duty calls, I have to run to the mill and drop off some papers.  I hope you all have blessed day.  I have ni idea when I will get back here to update but it will be sooner rather than later!!

What was I thinking?!

I started to blog last Thursday but I was rudely redirected and all that I had written was lost and really have had not a lot of time since to update here.  Having Lola while rather amusing is also very tiring.  Tigerlily is loving having a puppy, a little too much, she tries to smother her a bit!! Lola is a biter, puppies are and it kinda freaks TL out but she has learned to say NO to Lola and push her down..I am endlessly racing Tiger to the puppy dishes, she loves to pour the water all over herself and sample the dog food.  All in all it is a good experience and I think Lola is going to be a very good dog.  Potty training is going to be a breeze with her, thank goodness!!

I promise to post some pics as soon as I think to grab the camera and have the energy to push the button.

I haven't checked my comments yet so sorry if anyone has asked anything and I haven't answered, I will try to do that tonight or tomorrow.  It is really busy at work right now, the membership is voting on whether to accept the package that the company has proposed to them.  It has been 3 1/2 years since we have a contract and the membership is ready to accept anything and the company knows this.  It is still not a fair contract and I hope it is rejected but alas I think it will pass.  It means my Dad will be retiring December 29th.  Like it or not.  He is the #1 man there  out of 500 +/- in seniority, 36 + years.  I hope he will be happy.

My mom is being spotlighted in a local magazine, they called me at work for some cute stories and information on her, she will be tickled.  She is the type to do for others and never expects a thing for it.  She is a sweet lady and deserves this.

I wish I had an intersting weekend story but it rained and I took Tiger to Sams club.  That's about it!! Man wheeling those big carts is hard with a 14 month old who knows how to escape those straps and tries to stand up, she is so proud of herself too, I was beat, my belly was sore too, I really overdid it.

Ok dear hearts, I will probably be able to get on her tomorrow and update some more and check comments!
  Have a great Monday!!

How much is that doggie in the window?

We are going to go get Lola tomorrow after Marc gets out of work, so very excited.  A few days earlier then we thought but we are prepared for her, I think!!  Tiger is going to be soooo happy.

I made the chicken with 40 cloves of garlic last week, it was delicious and quite easy actually.  I made roasted red rosemary potatoes to go along with it.  We also had sweet butter lettuce salad with honey mustard dressing and pan bread.  Yum-O to quote Rachael Ray.  Because I am not sure where else to post the recipe I will post it here in my blog if you all don't mind.

3-4 lbs. of chicken legs and/or thighs
Kosher salt and Pepper
1T. Butter
2T. Olive oil, more if needed
1 1/2 C. dry white wine
1 T. fresh Thyme chopped
1 T. fresh rosemary chopped
2 T. flour
2-4 T. heavy cream
2 T Brandy
3 bulbs garlic
1 C. chicken broth

separate bulbs, parboil for 90 seconds, cool and peel.
heat butter and oil in a dutch oven and brown chicken in batches.  Remove all chicken and add garlic to pot.  Saute til brown.  Add wine to pot and bring to boil to remove bits from bottom of pot.  Return chicken along with broth, rosemary, thyme, salt and pepper.  Cover and simmer for 30 minutes.  Remove chicken.  Remove 1/2 cup liquid and add flour, mix and add back to pot along with brandy.  Simmer til thick then stir in cream.  Pour over chicken and serve!

I want feedback if you try this.  It is an Ina Garten recipe, I added the rosemary and broth myslef.  You can omit the brandy and it will still be great.

I am not here alone today so I gotta go.  Have a wonderful day all!!

Back to the Grind

I hope that everyone had a great weekend!  The weather here in Central Maine was GORGEOUS!  We stayed outside as much as possible! Marc got an amazing amount done on the house, he had to dodge a few sunshowers Saturday but WOW he got so much done!!

I will have a new bedroom for Tigerlily, as well as a breezeway and front porch all in the next 6 weeks!  It sounds like a long time but he is doing this all on his own, not a single person has offered to help and as you ladies know, husbands do not ask for directions, or for help on the house!!

We had out Dish Network hooked up Sunday, so very much NOT impressed so far.  The young man that came to hook it up was terrific, did a great job.  When I went online to order it I noticed the disclaimer that local channels may not available in all areas but you can have a stationary atennae hooked up so you can get them.  When we got the confirmation # for our new account I noticed that they had ordering Americas Top 60.  I had actually ordered the Top 120, so I called to change that, no problem.  I asked about the local channels at that time and was told that I would still get ABC, CBS and NBC but they would come out of New York probably.  Ok great, no problem there.  Ya, well, we have no ABC, no NBC and no CBS. I wanted to cry last night when I could watch Big Brother!!  (someone update me please).  I just called them now to ask about the antennea, I was told I had to get it from a local retailer, but we should nbe able to get the local in a few months, I can just imagine over the last year or so how many people have heard that!  So I called the first number, but since I am not an exsisting cutomer of TDS they won't bother helping me.  I called the second number, very nice lady tole me that her husband was the one I needed to talk to and he was at the local fair working but he would call me back when he got a chance! I am happy with the other channels we have, the picture was all of a sudden snowy this morning though.  I know all will work out eventually but am frustrated that I didn't have all the information going into this.  I am done with this rant now!!

If you are from Maine, live in Maine or frequent Maine you know the phrase "I should have bought it when I saw it at Mardens"..so dang true!  I saw dog "stuff" there a few weeks ago, before we decided to get Lola, and I thought then I should pick up a few thing, they were so darn cheap, but I didn't.  I went yesterday to get Lola a bed, dishes, leash and harness.  I had no luck! My loss.  But they had just gotten in a shipment of kids clothes, I was in heaven.  I got Tiger the cutest outfits and even got Marcius a tiny pair of jeans and a football jersey!!  Marc just melted when he saw that!

We have a photo shoot this afternoon.  Marc, Tiger and I are being photographed with Mike Michaud, he is a politician from the area that has done a lot of lobbying for lower gas and energy prices as well as fighting for the working class.  Not that I am political in any way, bu I work for a Union Local and represents us quite a bit. He was looking for an "all American family" pic.  So I have no idea where the pic will end up or what but it sounded fun and I get out of work early!!

So on that note I bid you adieu ( am sure I spelled that wrong).  I hope that you have a terrific and inspiring day!

Downtime

Four of our top officers are in Pittsburgh until tomorrow.  This means no phone calls 5 minutes before closing for crazy little things!  And if I want to run into town and get a nice corned beef sandwich for lunch I will by the gory!!  I feel great today!  Even though we had a severe thunderstorm last night, Tiger slept soooo good and hubby didn't snore.  I was asleep at 9:30, I woke up at 5:30 to feed Tiger who went right back to sleep and slept until 8:10 this morning!  Oh the joy!

My mom just brought me a warm homemade blueberry muffin.  Life is good!  Marc just gave me the ok to order Direct TV.  As long as I can get the Food Network and watch the Red Sox and Patriots then I don't care what we have.  I did notice the have something called the Baby Network.  I wonder what that is?

Please pray for the Herrin girls who are still struggling after their separation surgery yesterday.  These sweet little angels are 4 years old and joined at the hip and share organs.  One will get a kidney from her mom but will be on dialysis until then.  They need all the prayer and support they can get.

I am going to make chicken with 40 cloves of garlic for dinner tomorrow night.  I have seen it made a few different way so I think I will surf the web for the best one.  If you have ever had it or made it please let me know.

It is sunny, breezy and 75 here today. God must be having a good day too!  I know this entry has been all over the place but just wanted to get it all out.  Oh....Our closing is done and approved, our check will be here today!! WooHoo now we can pay for all the lumber, paint, siding and drywall that we charged to Marc's work account.  Thank goodness for his discount!

I need to start taking before and after pics so you can see where we are and where we end up.

Ok, enough of the babble!  I actually do have to do some work!  Have a blessed day, and do something nice for someone else today.

Just a Quickie

I am just here for a quick entry.  I have felt awful the past 2 days.  I stayed home yesterday but Tiger was not feeling her best either so I didnt get any rest or relaxation!

We had our closing.  It went quickly but I noticed they overcharged us $990!  I am glad I caught that or else they never would have!

Our trip to the big city this Sunday is off.  My Hubby wants to work on the house, understandably, but I am still disappointed.  Maybe in a few weeks we'll be better off to go.

Oh, if you have a dog or cat that is a bit older and sluggish.  Here is a number to call for  free samples of Purina 1-866-894-BARK.  Call it.  We tried it with my parents 14 year old border collie. You really see the change.  They will send you a coupon for a 4lb. bag free.  Not sure what they send for a cat I only asked for the dog food, but worth a try!

I will blog more later and I will check in with all the mommies too!  I hope you all have a blessed day.

Her name was Lola Pt.II

Well, there is a new album up with pictures of puppies, it sure was hard to get good pics inside of that barn but I got a few ok ones.  The runt of the litter picked Tiger right off the bat.  There was another puppy there, a male, that we were hoping would choose Tiger, but he was busy being a hambone!  He was a beautiful blue merle, the biggest puppy there!  But I think the one we bring home will be the best one for her.  We will go get her on the 20th.  Tiger was in heaven, it took her about 5 minutes to feel safe enough to be put down, once she was on the floor the surrounded her and started licking her toes, my goodness did she ever giggle!!  It was a good trip.

Our closing STILL has not taken place, the paperwork apparently never showed up at the agents home.  It is supposed to be tonight at 6, we'll see, I am not holding my breath.

Tiger's room has been on hold for a few days, we have just had other things that needed to be done, like spending quality time together!  Marc's sister has gotten a new apartment after being with the same man for 26 years she finally mustered up the gumption to move out.  With her will be her and Marc's mother, (love her but this woman has done nothing but mooch off her childeren since her husband left her 20 years ago.) Kaylee's son with Downs will also live between her and his dad.  We gave her a 27" TV and entertainment center that we brought to her last night and got to see her new pad.  It is very nice.  She is going to be very happy, and we are all happy for her.  As I said before, tonight is our closing, so not much will get done on the room and tomorrow Marc will be moving all his mom's stuff to the new place.  It looks like Thursday before we get more work done, painting will have to be later next week, can't wait to take pics of her new room to show you all!

I have to do a bank run this afternoon, in one of the towns I am passing through, there is an awesome farmers market I am dying to stop at!  I think I will have to make apit stop there for some fresh corn on the cob for supper!

I hope you all had a great weekend and a bearable Monday!!

Mud, mud, I love Mud!

Tigerlily's room has the first coat of mud on the drywall seams!!  It'll be sanded tomorrow and another coat added and then sanded tomorrow evening.  We may be able to paint it Sunday after we get back from puppy picking !!  I am sooo excited for my baby girl.

We are closing on our mortgage tonight and then out to dinner with our niece and her boyfriend, so not much will get done in there tonight.  That is ok, hubby needs a break!

We had spaghetti for dinner last night.  Tiger decided that she really enjoyed sucking the noodles in and then spitting them out and sucking back in again..LOL.  She actually ate quite well, she even had some of the meat sauce.  I was wondering if she may be a vegetarian.  She also had 1/2 a banana and 1/2 cup of blueberry yogurt.  I left her in her highchair while I cleared the table, did a few dishes and got her bath ready in the sink..I turned to talk to Marc for about 30 seconds and when I turned back around there was TL with a pile of noodles on her head and a big smile on her face.  This kids is so entertaining.  She loves to laugh at herself, as do we!  So into the soapy water she went to get the meat sauce out of her hair!

Sleep did not come easy for me last night.  I had just gotten Tiger to sleep at 8 and I was almost in dreamland when the phone rang at 8:45.  It was my mother calling to tell me that I had to go get Sophie in the morning if I needed her to babysit.  Sophie is my neice who watched TL on Thursdays and Fridays.  Her mom works a block away so she drops her off at our home on her way.  Well a call this late telling me this did not make me happy.  First I thought why the heck could they not call me themselves??  Then I thought, great I am going to be at least an hour late for work.  They live 1/2 hour away and I refuse to wake my daughter up in the morning for any reason. So I stewed about that all night along with the acid reflux compliments of my pregnancy, I slept maybe 4 hours total.  I am over it now!

I hope you all have a wonderful and safe weekend!  I will psot puppy pics Tuesday at the latest!

7月27日

hello?

It is fascinating to me how alert and well, smart my 13 month old is.  She can show you her belly button of you ask!!  Just a few days ago she discovered mine and thought it the funniest thing ever to poke at it!!  Finally I drew her attention to her own and that became her plaything of the minute.  Just for giggles, last night, I asked her to show Daddy her belly button and she picked up her shirt and stuck her finger in her navel!!  We laughed so hard.  If you say "hello" to her, she will pick up her play telephone, tuck in between her cheeck and her shoulder and walk around the living room babbling.  I just thought last night, we are very rarely on the phone at home, where did she get that from.  I used to take her to work with me until she was 7 months old.  Could she have possibly retained that from me bringing her with me??  Amazing what kids know and retain.

She has been calling me Mommy and my hubby Daddy for about 2 months now.  She just started trying to say grammie and grammpy.  They are now lovingly called "ME & PEE"  I fell off my chair laughing when I heard her call my dad PEE!!  They are so happy to be called anything!! As spoiled as this little girl is, I can't imagine how much Marcius will be!!  Oy!

Well I have an audit to get ready for here at work, and much needed filing to do (not my nails either!)

Have a blessed day.

Well, we found a litter of puppies.  The breed we are looking for too.  They are Aussie/Sheltie crosses.  There are 9 of them and the owners are letting us have the pick of the litter, actually I guess the puppy will pick us.  I am hoping that the runt will pick us.  She sounds like a dear.  And I already have a name picked out for her, Lola.  Of course if a boy puppy picks us, we will name him Boston, after the Red Sox.  We are going to see them SUnday, and we'll be able to pick up the newest member of our family the third week of August.  I will bring my camera and post pics Monday.

We will be painting Tigers room on Saturday (well hubby will be) I am sure I will be outside with Tiger or off running errands for the day.  I have picked blue thistle for the color.  I hope she likes it.  Once her room is done, we can move everything in to it, move our room contents into the nursery, rip our old  rug out, put down Pergo flooring, paint the walls, and re-arrange the room.  I can add nice curtains, some throw pillows.  That will make me feel good, like we have an adult room.

Well today has started off well so far, although it is going to be a scorcher.  I will stay in here with the A/C as long as I can!!  Please take care all!

Oh the Guilt!

It has been a few days since my last blog, things have been very hectic for me.  Last Friday there was an executive board meeting here.  This happens once a month here but only once during the summer.  I got  a million things done here Friday for everyone.  Cut checks, researched and ordered a PA system, got our water cooler fixed, found someone to strip and wax the floors here, got bids for paving the parking lot and alot more piddly stuff and I got a raise to boot!

My dear husband has been busting his butt trying to get Tiger's room finished so I was banished to my folks all weekend so the dust and sawing and nailing wouldn't scare Tiger.  Poor Tiger is still not feeling herself so she was miserable and just wanted Mommy all weekend.  I could even go pee without her crying big alligator tears.  My father, the old fashioned man he is, kept telling me,  just let her cry, she's manipulating you.  I finally told him to mind his business, she is MY baby and if I want to hold her all damn day I would.  He went to mow his 10 acres after that.  I could see the glint in my mom's eye after that.  She wouldn't dream of talking to my dad like that, but it makes her smile inside when someone puts him in his place.

It is not relaxing at my parents at all, it is loud, they have a nice house and lots of land outside but they live on a major highway and are 1 mile from a paper mill so log trucks are constatly zooming by.  The air conditioner is loud so the TV has to be louder than that and they kept asking why can't she sleep?? DUH.  Not to mention every time she started to doze, the phone would ring or the dog would bark or my mother would drop something.  I was so happy to go home yesterday evening.  My baby girl finally wound down and fell asleep around 9:00 pm.

Now, about the guilt.  I kept thinking this weekend.  How come when I need to run to the store or clean the house or do anything, it is with the baby.  Hubby goes to the market, gets outside to mow the lawn (a job I love) and generally does everything he needs to without me or the baby.  When we are all home, I have all I can do to unload the dishwasher or make dinner without chasing Tiger around or shooing her from under my feet while he is reading the sports page....he worked all day don'tcha know.  Now we both work very hard and love eachother and our daughter but I just want a few hours to do what I need (not necessarily want) to do.  But I feel so guilty asking him to take her visiting or for a ride because he is doing so much around the house too. I feel guilty that I need some time alone.  Our Grandmothers would be choking right now reading this they worked harder and would dream of doing anything without a baby on their hip...yadda yadda yadda.

Ok all vented and all better LOL.  I hope you all had a great weekend and your week is full of laughter!

One man's junk is another mans HOUSE

Ok, so here we are bopping along, living our lives.  All is well with the refinancing, our closing was coming up, THOUGHT the appraisal went well. HA!!  Maria from XYZ mortgage company called to tell me that there was a problem with our apparaisal, it was much lower the the one we had 11 months ago.  I asked how much lower, that makes no sense??  she said 32,000 lower.  WHAT THE F!@#???? No way I said we just put 15,000 in improvements and additions!!  We have a brand new kitchen, brand new living room, Tiger's new room will be done by the end of the weekend.  We have fenced in the backyard, have planted to raised beds with veggies.  Landscaped, added a small pond.  She agreed that it doesn't make sense and that the girl in the skimpy clothes didn't know what she was doing. So they hired a new company, scheduled to come on a Saturday, again, sometime between 9 and noon. Thank god for my dear husband.  He called to tell them he appreciated their effort but Saturday wasn't acceptable. He wanted them to be there tomorrow at 11am.  So there we have it, tomorrow at 11am is our new appraisal!!  Wish us luck.

Tiger has had a fever of approx. 100.5 for the past 3 days. Took her to the Dr. yesterday because she got these odd blisters on her laegs an one on her face.  Apparently the Dr. is stumped, we are just supposed to keep a close eye on her (like I don't anyway) and Tylenol for her fever.  Her spirits are good and her fluid intake is fine but she isn't eating much at all.  So I am having a hard time concentrating on work today, I just want to home cuddling with my baby girl.

Here in Maine it is a sweltering 94 degrees.  I am not complaing, we had so much crappy weather through June that I don't mind this at all, Thank God my office has A/C!   These are the days that ice cream has no calories!

Take care all.

How did you grow up?

Do you have great childhood memories?  I hope that you do, I think every person deserves to have a fun and full childhood, with attentive and loving parents.  I did not have that.  Don't get me wrong this is not a parent bashing blog entry, I just wanted to share/vent.
We moved from one small town to another when I was 7.  At 7, I was just forming bonds with school friends and neighbor kids.  We lived on a street full of kids and moved to the country where the nearest kids was 2 miles away.  No more walking home from school and stopping to get penny candy at the five and dime along the way.
We moved because my dad was transfered from one mill to another and wanted to be closer to work, 1 mile to be exact, although my mother still traveled the 25 miles one way for the following 22 years to her work.
We had to be very inventive with our time in the summer, finding something fun to do.  We were not allowed to go near the river that runs behind the house but we could go play at the pond next door.  We caught a lot of tadpoles and frogs!  We played in the abandoned barn next door until I realized that barn spiders get a big as your head.
Before we could actually go out and play we had to "do the list".  This meant the list of things to do that my mother left on the table EVERY DAY.  Clean the bathroom, do all the laundry and hang outside, make sure all the dishes are done, start supper by 4..and so on.  Well this list was broken up, a Janet to do list and a Jerry to do list.HA HA HA!  My brother threatened me everyday with some sort of torture if I didn't do his part of the list.  The one time I fought back and said no he chased me outside and shot me several times with his Daisy BB gun.  Ya we had a real love fest going on.

After a  few years my brother got into sports and girls and was not home during the summers or after school anymore.  So I was on my own, we were latch key kids by the way, looking out for ourselves.  He would ride his bike to the field for practice, a 14 miles round trip hike. He didn't care, he would leave and go to a friends house or girlfriend of the week.  He had endless energy.  When I turned 12 I was finally allowed to ride my bike the 2 miles up the road to the Whiitemores. They had 3 sons and next door to them were 2 girls.  I of course could not go there until or unless my chores were done, and when the garden needed to be weeded I would be stuck home doing that for days.  So my time with my new friends was limited.
I really didn't know how to socialize, so when Jr High and High School started for me, I made few friends,m and no life long ones.  This fact still tugs at my heart.  I must say that my husband was one of my closest friends then and of course the love of my life now, but to have a close girlfriend to share secrets with and giggle uncontrollably with, I would have done anything for that. I lived in the shadow of my very popular brother.  Few people knew me as Janet, only Jerry's little sister.  I have gotten over this fact as much as I ever will.  I am a grown woman with a beautiful family now.  I love my parents and brother dearly. I am closest to my mother I must say.  Jerry and I see eachother "whenever" and we get along fine but no closeness there unfortunatly.
I gues the old adage applies, If I knew then what I know now.....who knows.  I love me, now, finally.
Sorry for the whiny tone of this but just feeling nostalgic and hoping that my children will always be happy and never know the aloneness I felt growing up.
My next blog will be much more up beat, I promise!

Just plain silly

Our weekend was very nice, it actually didn't speed by as it usually does.  We had our appraisal on Saturday.  The mortgage company said the appraiser would be there between 9am and noon, sure enough, 11:55 it was! It took her about 15 minutes to do what she needed to do and another 10 minutes of questions and she was done.  She was wearing short shorts and a tank top with tatts all over her legs.  She was a very nice girl and acted professionally but, I guess I was al bit taken aback by her attire.  I would dream of wearing something like that to work.  What happened to respect for your profession? Regardless of whether you like your job or not, you should look the part.  Ok enough of that.

Saturday afternoon was spent grocery shopping and lunching with Tiger and my mom while Marc worked on Tigers new bedroom.  I got home by 4:00 and we had a nice dinner, played outside, and I was in bed by 8:30!!

Sunday we got up, had a nice breakfast.  Tiger actually ate really good.  Then we went for a nice looong ride in which Tiger slpet the whole 2 hours.  We stopped at a farm stand and bought some beautiful baby red potatoes.  I can't wait for fried green tomatoes!  Planting was late this year because of all the rain, I think I have a few week before those.  God Bless the farmer.  Such hard work, I hope it is rewarding for them.

Tiger has taken to acting very silly.  She hops up and down at certain commercials and laughs at nothing at all.  She points at us and talks non stop gibberish then walks away laughing.  I left this morning and she was in her high chair trying to eat french toast sticks with out her hands, just by bending over and using her tongue to push food around on her plate. She make me laugh, I mean really laugh, not the fake, fell like you gotta laugh laugh.  She is fascinated by this commercial with Tonya Roberts pushing some properties in Las Vegas, she and Alan Thicke both do the same comercial, but it is just the on with Tonya Roberts ( she is Donna's mom on That '70's show) that she drops everything for.   Any weird thing your kids do? Would love to know.

I hope your weekend was a great as mine!

Long Weekends

I came to work Monday morning and as I was running payroll, needed to phone my boss.  It obviously sounded as if I interrupted his vacation, but when he realilzed I was calling from the office and the call was work related ( why else would I call my boss?)  he let me know that it was a holiday for me and to get outta there!  I was sooooo thrilled!  My husband had to work but I got to spend a whole day at home with my baby girl.  How much fun we had!  She showed me how well she can get up into and out of her new rocking chair, we danced to songs by the Wiggles and Choo-Choo soul.  She even figured out how to get on her new 4 wheeler and push the button that makes it go. She took a nice long nap that allowed me to do some much needed housework and watch the food network.

We went to a friends for the 4th. and Tiger went in a big pool for the first time.  We got her a float that she sat in and we pushed her around the pool.  She loved it.  Her little toes looked like raisins.  We had a ball and were home by 6pm.  She slept so well too, only 1 wake up.  It is so important to spend time with your family, no matter what.
